Single Session Thinking

International Community

Welcome to the Single Session Thinking (SST) International Network

A dynamic, global community of practitioners, leaders, and thinkers dedicated to client-led, responsive, and one-at-a-time approaches to care.

Founded and facilitated by Katy Stephenson, the International Single Session Thinking Network brings together like-minded professionals from around the world who are passionate about brief, accessible, and collaborative approaches to care.
Our online meetings are a space for sharing ideas, practice examples, and research; for connecting across disciplines; and for continuing to grow this evolving movement together.

Whether you’re new to the concept or have been using SST in your work for years, you are warmly invited to join the conversation. Together, we’re exploring how single session thinking can transform the way services engage with people — one thoughtful conversation at a time.

We meet quarterly via Microsoft Teams to:

  • Share best practice from different regions and disciplines

  • Explore emerging ideas and real-world challenges in SST implementation

  • Reflect together on the therapeutic stance of SST and its alignment with relational, trauma-informed, and systemic approaches.

  • Build cross-cultural connections and learn from one another's experiences.

  • Spotlight new research, pilot projects, and frameworks shaping the future of brief interventions.

Our meetings are welcoming and accessible whether you are new to single session thinking or have been applying it for years. Each gathering includes a combination of presentations, case examples, Q&A, and reflective space.
