Hello, and welcome.
Safe Haven offers a warm, professional space to explore what matters most to you.
I work with individuals, families, and professionals using a systemic approach to therapy that considers the whole context of your life and relationships.
Whether you’re seeking a single focused conversation, short-term help, or ongoing support, my goal is to create safe, respectful, and meaningful spaces for real change.
You can also access resources, information and connect with other Single Session professionals and connections from around the world.
I’m Katy, a systemic psychotherapist (also known as a family therapist) and supervisor passionate about creating safe, respectful spaces for meaningful change.
My approach is grounded in the belief that people don’t exist in isolation—we’re all shaped by our relationships, families, communities, and professional systems. By understanding the bigger picture, we can uncover the patterns that keep us stuck and create new ways of relating and being.
I began my career as a youth worker in the inner cities of London, including work within youth justice systems and youth-focused services designed to support and develop young people in schools and communities as they overcame challenges. That early experience shaped my commitment to working collaboratively, respectfully, and with a deep belief in people’s capacity for change.
I’m trained as a systemic psychotherapist (family therapist) with registrations in the UK through the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the Association for Family Therapy (AFT).
My approach is also informed by my own lived experience, which deepens my commitment to offering a safe, non-judgemental space where people can explore their stories and create change in ways that make sense to them.
Over the years, I’ve worked in youth mental health services, child protection, schools, and specialist settings, both in the UK and Australia. My work is trauma-informed, relational, and collaborative. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, I work with you to decide what you need—whether that’s a single focused conversation or a longer journey of exploration and change.
I’m also deeply committed to professional learning and capacity-building. I offer training and workshops to help teams and services have open, honest dialogues about their work, their challenges, and the people they support. I believe that single session thinking isn’t just about brief therapy—it’s about empowering people and systems to make the most of every opportunity for meaningful, authentic connection.
When we create safe spaces for reflection and real conversation, change becomes possible—not just for individuals and families, but for the systems around them.
Thank you for reading. I look forward to meeting you.
